Moving Questions

I may be moving in the next 6months, would it be wise for me to wash out some of the sand before i get the tank set up again, just to get rid of all the junk that could of built up in the time it was running?? Or would that hurt the stability of the system??

You could rinse it out in the water it's currently in before you scoop it out. When you get everything else out, and before you drain the last of the water, stir the hell out of the substrate then drain the water. This way you don't kill the good bacteria, but you get all the gunk out and into the water you are getting rid of anyway.
