Mushroom Question

I was wondering if my anemone was stinging this mushroom, it's pretty close to it. The mushroom has a few spots on the side nearest the anemone that were not there when I put him in the tank. They are the darker spots towards the top and right on him in the pic. any input about mushroom placement will help. thanks

I think if it's not stinging it you can count on some pretty serious chemical warfare going on

Besides physical aggression that you can actually see, corals and anemones also play a chemical "warfare" (allelopathy). The function is to produce the chemical to compete with other corals, generally by influencing their development to protect their "turf" on the reef. Mushrooms are known to be some of the most potent.
