Mushroom Taking Over

How do I scale back this mushroom? It has taken over my Zoa. I tried to pull it off, but did not use too much effort. Any risk involved with them?

I have the same green hairy mushrooms and they grow like crazy.. Ripping them off is fine but make sure you really get em.. I ripped one of mine that was on two rocks when rearranging my scape and now I have 2 colonies on each side and that took only two months for the ripped one to reproduce into just about 4 or 5 more shrooms. Best option I think is to just frag em. Exchange a rock you have with a few on it for store credit or something
