My Chocolate Chip Starfish Is E V I L !

Well.... this morning I woke up and found my choco chip starfish munching on my HUGE mushrooms. I pulled him off and saved about half of them. I set the shrooms on the other side of the tank up on some rocks.

Normally i feed my cc starfish frozen food.... calmari stuff... brine.... seaweed mix.. etc.. a varied diet.. every other day to every three days. I also hang seaweed salad every other day. He likes both of those but for some reason he went after my shroom. This is the first time in the last year he has gone for mushrooms.

I know they aren't reef safe but I've never had a problem before. Anything I can do to prevent this?!?

Put it in a different tank. That's not trying to be funny either, if the foood is available to it...it's gonna eat it.

Pack his bags for him...he isn't reef safe. If your attached then say goodbye to the shrooms because your gonna end up losing one of them. It's really just up to you now as far as which one.

I have to agree that they are not reef safe. Do you have a sump they can go in?
