Nazarus snails

Can any one explain or know why all the nails are on the upper glass part of the tank instead if inside the substrate somewhere?

Not to sure but the only thing I can think of is the water that is lower in the tank is somewhat different than the water higher in the tank. Do you have a powerhead or something to turn the water? Don't know just throwing it out there

Mabey theres more of an algea build up at the top but there were some at the bottom so ur waters prob fine
