New way to remove Aiptasia

I had a pesky aiptasia in my tank and I just couldnt get at him. Everytime I tried he went into a hole in the liverock. So, I put a clamshell over top of the hole he would come out of. After a couple days, he was coming out from the side of the clamshell. I took the clamshell off and his "stem" was fully extended, which allowed me to grab him with a pair of pliers and rid my tank of him. Amen!

Good suggestion. Maybe someone else will be able to use that.

So you tore it off? Or was it attached to the clamshell? If you just ripped the base off it might not be dead..

It as still attatched to the rock. I ripped it off of the rock...stem and all. I will be keeping an eye on the spot it was in to see if it comes back, but I am pretty sure I got all of it...

lol these things have some terrible deaths. lethal injection, cremation, get ripped in half, and they also get engulfed in a death cloud.
