The November 2002 issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist had an informative article on keeping octopus in aquariums. You might check to see if your LFS has some back issues, one of ours keeps all of their back issues on their stand.

There are two major problems with keeping them that I am aware of.
Most are COLD water thus they would not survive in our tropical water temp tanks.
Second, They are very STRONG and very SMART. They will excape from nearly any tank you put them in. If their beak (part of the mouth) can get thru a hole then their entire body can fit.
