I have two urchins (pencil & purple) and they're growing really fast. Inside of about a month they've gone from the size of a pencil eraser to the size of a 20 ounce bottle cap. I've noticed they're really starting to work on the coralline in some areas. So the inevitable is approaching and i'm going to have to remove them in favor of keeping my coralline population up. Is it ok to drop these guys in my 9g fuge as long as i have a light on it with some rocks and stuff in there?

TIA

I have had my Pencil Urchin for years now & it is such a slow grower..... I am jealous!

I think they will be ok in your fuge so long as there is plenty algae in there for them to graze on. Not sure about the pencil but the purple should max out at around 4" across, including the spines.
