Oysters & Pearls

Just wondering if anybody has kept Oysters and tried to harvest Pearls?

With how pearls are formed, it would be hit or miss about getting a particle in there. It takes some serious knowledge and equipment to do it without killing the oyster. Along with that, it would take a lifetime to see results.
