RobesPierre the peppermint shrimp has molted again!
This is the 4th time in 7 weeks. Is this normal? When I first got him he was less than an in with only 3 legs , now he's a sea beast. He measures ~2" and has all his legs.

Salinity: 1.025
Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrite:0ppm
Nitrate:0ppm
Temp: 78.5*F

That sounds normal to me, my pistol shrimp and my one cleaner shrimp molt every week to 2 weeks.

It should not be a concern as long as you are not adding general suppliments that contain iodine/iodate. Shrimp will moult as a way of removing impurities as well as when growing. If no additives, it should be fine...

Cheers
Steve

With the growth that you say he has gone thru it sounds normal to me aswell. Since the exoskelton is hard and limits shrimp growth it will need to shed it as it grows and if its groing quickly then its going to be sheeding quickly.
