I am establishing my 125 Gallon aquarium and was interested in using some plants to assist in filtering out some of the Nitrates and adding Oxygen to the water. Was planning on putting them in the filter underneath the tank.

Any thoughts on this? Good/bad idea?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

BTW, this is my first time on this forum, it looks like a great one. Glad I found it!

Welcome to AquariumAdvice.com :)

What you are planning is actually an excellent idea nd should not be too hard to accomplish. Harvesting macro algaes as a means of export is a very good way of removing impurities and such from the water.

>>Here<< is a diagram that should give you some idea's.

Cheers
Steve
