Hello all

I have a question. I have a lot, and I mean a lot, of Pods in my sump. I use a Mag 7 for the return and it has a prefilter on it. I have recently noticed a decline in the Pod population in display tank. Is it better to have the prefilter on or off ? Will some make it through ? Just wondering....Thanks.

I would take the prefilter off. The prefilter may be preventing pods from getting blown into your display tank. I guess it really depends upon the prefilter-- how small of particles it filters. Pods are pretty small but I could see them being prevented from getting into the display tank with that filter on the pump. Also, a lot of members prefer not to have prefilters at all. They believe that the trapped detritus will cause an elevation in their nitrate levels.
