I will most likely be upgrading my boring 40 watt single bulb flourecent fixture to a 130watt Coralife Lunar Compact Flourecents to promote Coraline alage. Do you think i will see a big alage bloom, or mayve even the dreaded CYANO. I have not had a problem with alage in my tank as of yet, but would the more light be likely to increase alage?

Thanks,

- Jeff

Unwanted algea is more a product of high NO3 and PO4 levels then lighting. Natural sunlight or extended periods of light can cause algea to grow. bulbs also need to be replace every year to help prevent the gowth of unwanted algea.

AHHHH, i just went to order my lights off of Ebay, i just went to checkout and using Paypal, and i exceeded my spending limit, i had to verify my account, which takes 2-3 days. Oh well.
