protein skimmer aqua clear aquatics

can someone help me with this skimmer that i have. it is one of those aqua clear aquatics skimmers with a rio 600 attached to it. it constantly kicks a million bubbles into the tank, and doesent collect anything in the cup. can someone tell me how to rectify this. i have tried fiddling with the flow rate on the rio, but nothing seems to help. any help would be appreciated
