Purple algae

seeing all of you guys/gal tank so nice with purple algae .. but i cant get mine to grow purple algae ? tested ammonia,nitrate,nitrite 0 .ph 8.0-8.1. salinity .025-26.calcium 450-500 . What am i doing wrong ? had the tank for bit more than a yea

The blue light turn.on from 10am-midnite . Sunlight on 11am-11pm . I.used 2 set deep.blue.solarmax T5 HO

Do you have any in your tank to start with? It helps to seed the tank and then it takes off.

Yes I had few wiyh purple algae when I bought the rock

Scrap some off a rock and let it blow around the tank and once in a while use a power head and blowoff the rocks that have it on them helps spread spores.
