question about shrimp...

i got 3 peppermint cleaner shrimp the other day. i cant usually see all 3 of them. lately i have only been seeing 2 consistantly. no idea if its the same 2. but i saw this today...



did it just molt its shell or can i assume it is dead? im not to familiar with the process. thanks in advance

That looks like a molt, When they do molt they usually hide for a while until their new shell hardens. My blood shrimp has gone as far as to leave the molt attached to the rock where it normally stands. I was fooled into thinking I had an extra one till I realized that one wasent moving
