Removing scratches from glass

What is the best method / tools for removing very light scratches and rubs from glass surfaces. These are outside the tank. My tank is currently empty.

buffing it with a compound works. I hadn't done it but I did consider it. There are places online that sell a buffing drum that you put on a drill and the compoud. It costs around ten dollars. look for glass buffing in google.
