Reusing sand

Im getting a 110 and getting different sand. Can i rinse my current petco black and white sand and use in my fw tank? Ive got 40 lbs or so and only need 20. Is it possible?

Yes reuse it but the sand will need to be very well rinsed and rerinsed to get all the gunk and most of the salt out. If you mix the black sand with the white sand won't it just look gray?
