Is Ricordea a coral or an anemone? Or is the jury still out on that one?

My question would be, do they attatch themselves to a base like coral will when placed in one place for a while? Or so they tend to move around like most anemomes?

I have found a lot of conflicting info on them. I want to make sure that I place them in the proper light and current for them to do their best. Do they do well in the home aquarium or should I avoid them like Condi's?

Thanks

Howard

Ricordeas are mushroom anemones.. If you cut a piece off, it will soon grow a mouth and attach itself to whatever it sits on.. This usually takes about 3 weeks or so...Once they attach, they will not move around, they just split, creating more ricordeas...They require high amounts of light to do well in an aquarium... unlike many of the other mushrooms out there..HTH

mushroom anemone = Coralimorph, which is actually closer to a coral than an anemone, but is neither
