buy your self a rodi unit off ebay they are cheap there or bulkreefsupply.com and hook it up to either your sink or outdoor water and it will filter the water and give you pure rodi water easy as that

You can get portable ones (or disposable b/c I dont think you can change most of the filters) off eBay for around $65. For a nicer permanent unit that you can replace all the filters run about $120 and up. I spent about $180 on mine because I added a few things like a 3gal tank under my sink, a faucet, and a dual inline TDS meter. I paid about 135, for the kit and the add ins were about $50. I bought mine from eBay.

Here's what I bought. I am pleased with it, it was easier than I thought to install under my sink.

Ok so how much are the filters that you change out

For the set that gets changed every year, about $25 , for the membrane and the every year stuff it's about $40, I think the membrane lasts around 2 years depending on usage, how good the water coming in is, and how well your prefilters work ect.

It all depends on how much u run. I have a 200 gallon reef and a 54 gallon reef. I go through 5 to 6 gallons a day. So I replace my filters when the meter on the rodi system reads 10.

So is it better to have that higher and what's the diff between a 2 canister and a 3 canister

It really depends on how much water you need to be able to produce a day, higher gpd doesn't mean it's a better RO, or just means it can produce more per day.
As far as number of stages, typically the more stages the purer the water. If your source water is really bad, you need more stages. As far as this goes, the more stages, the better.

Ok umm there are like 2 diff kinds of units right

RO's come in many different stages 2 to like 5 or 6. Unless your talking about RO vs. RODI. The DI unit is a deionization unit, this system yields the best water, 0 Total dissolved solids.
Just an RO system may still have some TDS.

I got mine at Costco then found that I needed DI filter too. I needed it to remove phosphates that fed a algae I was trying to get rid of.
