Running skimmer after tank has crashed

I still have two clams, 3 shrimp, and about 1/2 my corals look like they might pull through. Since I no longer have fish, do I still need to be running my skimmer??

I would be running my skimmer full tilt, especially since we are not exactly sure what crashed your system.
