SALT WATER MIXTURE

Has anybody tried using rock salt (like the one we buy at supermarket) as mixture for saltwater tanks. Sorry about the dumb question...

There are a few impurities that may not be welcome by marine creatures. I would however not recommend it's use at all. It is void of the very much needed trace elements a proper ecosystem needs to survive.
