can you add r/o d/i h2o to your tank and then add the salt and have the ph's mix it up for you, or do you have to do this as a seperate process. it is a new tank with a dsb.
 
You can add the salt after the water if this is a new tank with no livestock. In fact, most people prefer to do it this way. After you get your livestock is when you need to do it the other way.

I'm just going to add to Mike's comment, that after you have the livestock, and you're mixing it up in a separate container, to do this 24 hours in advance. Freshly mixed SW will burn a fish's skin and gills...its needs to age 24 hours to fully mix and stabilize.
