Sand on LR - bad?

My Golden Headed Sleeper golby is depositing sand on my liverock. Yesterday we blew if off with a turkey baster but it looks the same today. Is it OK for the LR to have sand on it? Or will it kill off the color? It was just starting to look nice and colorful before we added the Goby. Is it anything to worry about?

How much sand are we talking about? A little here and there wouldn't hurt at all, but if he is covering up whole pieces of LR, then I could see it being a problem with the macros.
