Sand sleeping wrasse

I'm looking into getting some wrasses that burrow in the sand.. My question is. How coarse of sand can be in the tank? I have 3" layer of aragonite. With a 1" layer of live sand on top.. Will the aragonite scuff the wrasse up and possibly cause infections... Or problems?

I have a hoevans wrasse and before I switched to my bigger tank I had a couple inches of sand and a layer of crushed coral on top and he burrowed in it every night and he's fine

Yea its pretty cool. He used to disappear by 1030 on the dot every night and come back out at 930 the next morning. Then a couple nights I worked later than usual so he waited up for dinner lol and now he buries himself at random times. I messed up his sleep schedule haha. And if it buries himself right when you put him in your tank don't worry about it they usually come out when they feel safe.
