Skimmer issues

I have the coralife 125 on my 90...as many of you know I love it.

But yesterday the collection cup started ti fill quickly.Had I not caught it,which I barely did,it would have been a disaster for the carpet (its a hob).

It was as though the output had been over corrected, forcing flow to the cup.

I cleaned the sponges in the return box a few days ago, first time in a while, and it had been running at that rate/return flow for a few days.

I hadn't touched the tank in about 16 hrs...it just started collecting much faster.

Any ideas?Common?Something I need to do?
Like I said this would have been bad (real bad) had I not noticed,or worse, not even been home.

What do you guys think?

Work on heading to a sump to avoid this disaster.

Sometimes the air inlet will clog, changing the pressure on the pump. You may have to set up a schedule to maintain it before it happens again.

Send a message via Yahoo to Hara
Any additives or medicines? They will make a skimmer go nuts.

Afishy a sump is being considered much more atm.

Hara...no, nothing like that....it was many hours of nothing, days for the skimmer in fact.

On my skimmer when it gets clogged or close to it I get a cup of warm water and let it pull it in throgh the air hose and dissolve the salt that is in it.
