My Watchman Goby used to hang out in the front of the tank all the time and was out for feedings and what not. Over the last month or so, he now gets scared when anyone is in front of the tank and hides behind the rocks. During feedings, he still hides, so I have to put the food in and stay back a ways for him to come out.

Is something possibly wrong with him, or is this typical behavior? The only reason I ask is he never used to be like this. Want to make sure things are ok.

Thanks!!

that is pretty typical. Very few stay out alot...unless they are paired up with a shrimp, then they seem to stay out more.

LOL, ok thanks. :D

Yea, now that he hides I have to sneak up on the tank to see the shrimp. They are almost always together. I think the shrimp is almost braver than him now, but not by much. :)

I agree that this is normal for watchman gobies. I have a pink spotted that stays out all the time. I hope he does not revert to this.
