Smoke floating around?

i just looked in my tank and theres some white translucent stuff floating around inside the water.

it looks like a puff of smoke. and the fish seem to want to eat it... and if they do, they just spit it out

what the heck is it?

Do you by chance have some slug-like snails in your tank? I had one that blow out some smoke like stuff from its nostrils but not enough to do what you are describing above.

Most likely sperm from your snails. I don't think they're nostrils...

i have plenty of them, but they never make the water milky, ive seen them spawning but its only a little spurt here and there, never makes anywhere near the whole tank milky
