Last night I noticed that one of my Turbo snails was laying in one spot and it looked very weird, like it was not able to retract fully into it's home.

So I had to ask it, "Are you too good for your home? Go Home!"

Ok, really what happened was that I picked it up and noticed that there was a small piece of LS/crushed shell stuck between its shell and its body.

I removed the shell and the snail immediately retracted into is home. I placed the snail in the front of the tank so I could watch it. I also noticed that there seemed to be a lot of redness/purpleness to the body.

Is this due to bruising from the piece of shell?
THanks for your help.

Also, if this is in the wrong forum please move it for me.

Thanks again!

Sorry, I forgot.
He came out and moved around about 5 minutes after I placed him in the front of the tank. This morning and at lunch I could not differentiate him from the other Turbos I have.

Is this a good thing?
Should I keep watch for him to turn belly-up?

(OK, so a lot of questions instead of one)

Thanks

Sounds like he may be OK. When turbo's fall on their backs, they have a lot of trouble righting themselves. That may be what you were witnessing.
