snowflake eel escape?

I am receiving a snowflake eel on Friday. Will he be able to/will he swim through the little slits on my overflow? I have sealed the lid, but got to thinking about the overflow... Any known instances of this?

My sf eel has never escaped and I have an open top aquarium. It's in a 75g and the eel is about 13" long

I have heard stories of eels getting out of all kinds of tanks some get into the sump them out that way or so the person figured. That is the only thing that has kept me from getting one I don't have tight fitting tops on any of my tanks.
