Question Snowflake Eel - Reef and Fish Safe?

Hey guys, while reading online I found this article: A Serpent For Your Reef Tank: A Look at Fish-Safe Eels by Frank Marini, Ph.D. - Reefkeeping.com
Are these guys really good for reef's as long as they are kept fed and, um, watered per se?

It;s hit or miss I guess. Some people have them without them ever touching any tankmates, others have had them wipe their inverts out etc. Here's a recent thread where it was discussed.

Haven't had mine touch fish (yet. fingers crossed.), but shrimp are definitely an issue for me. Mine became dinner.

it was a bummer, but we couldn't get him out of the tank, we tried but without much success, but it was a lesson learned. I'm not sure i'd recommend the eel if you really enjoy having shrimp around

I had one for a few yrs and inverts and small fish will not be safe. If you want to say coral safe then yes I suppose they are that. Here is a pic of mine.

It was a sad day when I heard of his death. I enjoyed looking at his photos and following his thread. He seemed like a eel with lots of personality.
