Snowflake Moray / Other tank inhabitants...

Well, i thought I was keeping him rather well fed with a diet of shrimp, scallops, and freeze dried bring shrimp...

But he saw fit to eat one of my hermit crabs when he shed his skin...

Is this normal???

It was a rather large hermit crab too... So, how long before the Moray needs to eat again?

k, thx.

Dave

How big is the eel? Mine will eat 3 huge cocktail shrimp every other day...
As far as eating the crab, well, if you were bored and a hamburger sat on a plate staring at you....you would probably eat it. They eat crabs, shrimp and fish, that is their nature. I have found that after the eel gets used to being fed by you, they tend to get lazy as far as hunting goes.

LOL, no matter how lazy my eel gets, he still feels like snacking every once in a while.
