It appears that something is eating my live rock. This piece is specifically a dead coral (Acropora) skeleton about 10" tall. I have attached an older picture of the specific rock.
While using my turkey baster to blow off the rocks I noticed that a great deal of white debris came floating off. Upon closer examination I found that on the upper most part of the rock it was cleaned white and appeared to have some boring going on.

Any thoughts?

Usually if it had some corralline on it and you added to the tank the old coralline will turn white and then go back to it`s original color. I`m wondering if this is what the white color is?

We also need more information, Water parameters, age of tank, temp. SG. etc.
