Spider Webs in Tank???

I live in the suburbs of Little Rock, Arkansas
K guys...this is weird!!! I found what looks like spider webbing in the back right side of my tank. It only spans the length of about 4"x4". I don't see any strange critters running around the tank but I did have a bundle of green button polyps to mysteriously die. Hmmm...any clues???

Perhaps some kind of worm??? I dunno...
 
its from tube worms i bet, they spit it out to trap stuff and then pull it back in. I bet its the worst when you blow the live rock with turkey baster or disturb anything
 
Could be chemical warefare between corald, what was next to the polyps?
 
I have found areas of "spider webbing" similar to what you are describing. It seems to be associated with my zoas.
