starfish paratrooper

Today when we were watching our tank we noticed that our orange starfish keeps climbing to the top of the glass, then he decides to just let go and fall to the bottom on his back. This is the first time we have witnessed this odd behavior and were wondering if this is a normal thing for them to do. It is an orange linka star.

Most likely the star is just losing it's grip in a higher water flow area. As long as the star shows good color and no sign of necrosis, it should be fine.

How are the water parameters? NH3, NO2, NO3, ph, temp and salinity?

Cheers
Steve

Looks good but I would up the SG to 1.025 (35 ppt). Inverts do much better at slightly higher salinities. If using a swing arm hydrometer, just a tad over 1.024 SG should do. Believe it or not, that little bit can make a difference in overall invert health...

Cheers
Steve
