Stockman Stand pipe

I made a stockman stand pipe to quiet down my overflow box but the water drains so fast from the overflow box it still girggles. How might I tweak this so it works right?

Raise and lower it until the sound is quietest.

Try making the hole in the endcap smaller too. That worked for me. I think i ended up with a hole that was 5/64" or whatever size is one up from a 1/16"

Just make sure that you keep the hole clear of salt creep. If the hole gets closed from that you can have problems, I did.

Good point pipermurphy, I keep the drill bit next to my tank so I can keep it clean. I check it every water change

I just use a toothpick and stab it once and a while
