store bought live mussels?

again, im not a saltie yet...
i saw a bag of "live" mussels at the grocery store. i know its weird already, but can i use them in a fishtank, or will they stick to the glass and never let go. i'd hope they'd be disease free, as people are suppose to eat them. just kinda feel sorry for i guess, plus im sure they'd earn their keep.

I am pretty sure most of what you get at the store are cold water species, and wouldn't survive in a tropical inviroment. I could be wrong, i'm sure others will chime in.

I agree with this. You would have to find out where they harvest them. I have read that the East Coast ones need cooler temps. (It was a post a while, so forgive me if I am a bit off).
