For DSB method, can i use those sand there is like baby powder for the base ard 1-2 inches followed by normal coral sand of 3-4 inches on top ?

use all southdown, or yardright (cheap at home depot) or pure argonite sand from LFS or online source.

1. either use all #coral sand no 0, 1 or 3
the smaller the no, the finer the sand


2. #0 or 1 as the base then #3 cover on top

Sure. I didn't pay attention to size, I just got southdown myself and put it in. 8)
