setting up sump am i correct section1 filter media etc section 2 skimmer section 3 return pump tia

Nope always want the skimmer in the 1st section as it should be the first point of contact after water enters the sump. I run 0 filter media in my sump and just have a middle refugium section with live rock, caluerpa and chaetomorpha algae. Then my return pump.

I guess that’s true that socks are usually first. I guess I just meant I’d definitely have the skimmer in the first chamber.
