tang and test kits

what do yellow tangs eat what kinda supplement can i get i feed it a combo of meaty foods and i know they need like seaweed and such and can any one recomend a good test kit with allthe trimmings for a decent price

What tank will you be putting the YT in?

for now it s in a 35 gal it will be moved to a 55 shortly i know its not the recomended size tank for a tang but it is only about a inch in length

Moving it in the next 6-10w would be good. Any longer than that and I'd wait. My purple (which is really small) was so frightened and shy in my 15g QT. He is a completely different fish now that he's in my main. It was really surprising to me how dramatically the tank size affected his behavior.

As for what they eat, mine eat formula 2 and nori. They also get Formula 1 and prime reef when the tank gets those on alternate days. A wide variety of veggies is also good (like softened by freezing carrots, spinach, broccoli and frozen peas).
