Temp fluctuations

I have a new 50 g tank running right now but see the temp move a degree or two one way or the other through out the day, with all conditions remaining equal. Is this normal. What type of changes can the fish, inverts and coral take?

A degree or two max should be fine for most species. Mine fluctuates between 80 and 81.5 daily. Try to set your heater a little below your highest daytime temp and adjust seasonally if necessary.

I have the same "problem" if you call it that. Mine is running between 81 and 82.5. All of my fish are ok now for a year but I dont have anything major other than LR for now.

Those temps are fine. Don't worry till you hit above 84. Stability is the key 8)
