How do I figure out if my tank is tempered? It's a 45 gal corner tank and I don't see any brand name on it or anything else. Would love to drill it but don't know if I can?

Easiest way is grab some polarized glasses and see if theirs a pattern in the glass. If their is its tempered

Hit it with a hammer, if it breaks off in plates than its not tempered.. can you look on the bottom? There is usually a sticker.

LMAO Love the hammer idea........

If I remember right the edge of glass is colored
the blueish colored is non tempered
the greenish colored is tempered

most odd ball shape tanks are usually tempered
at least all mine were :D

Most standard tanks are tempered on the bottom. The 55 gallon is the only tank I can think of that's made of all tempered glass.

Why is that?

I thought everything even up to 180 gallon and higher tanks the bottom was tempered and that was it.

I really don't know why the 55 gallon is the odd ball.
