Testing tank water

What's the best thing to use to test water???
Currently using dip strips but it's confusing I find

I use Salifert test kits always been 100% happy with

I use Salifert for most tests. I use a meter for pH and the Hanna handheld checker for PO4.

If using the API or any other liquid test kit I recommend getting a dosing syringe at the local drugstore. Most kits call for 5 ml of water for testing but the silk screened line is rarely at that level.
