To cover or not to cover my tank

I have recently been told that I COULD cover my tank because my sump is open to air...what's your opinion?

You could, just suggest a powerhead pointed at the surface of the eater to beak up the surface.

Many do cover, its up to you. Your tank will have better gas exchange if its open. You could leave the glass off and use eggcrate instead. You will get the good gas exchange and keep the jumpers in the tank.
