Too much current?

Whats up everyone! I have a question about the amount of current flowing through my tank. I'm afraid it's too much

I've got a Rio 1100 cupped to one side, blowing directly across the front of the tank right near the surface.

On the other side, I've got an AquaClear 70 (I think equivalent to the old 702 or 802) in the back corner, blowing towards the middle of the front glass.

My fish seem to avoid the currents whenever they can, and it throws the food around so fast that sometimes I dont think they eat as much as they should.

Any advice from anyone would be great! Thanks!

JW

If its not a reef tank you don't need such high velocity current. How many GPH does the rio and HOB turn over?

It's a standard 55 gallon glass tank.
