topping off...quick question

when water evaporates...do you just top it off w/fresh water? because the salt doesnt evaporte right? and would i need to check my SG when i do it or should it be normal? i think its only 2 gallons or so...

Correct. The salt does not evaporate so top-off with FW. When doing a water change use aged an aerated SW. Changes in SG are very stressfull to fish so topping off with small amounts of FW more frequently is better practice. Every other day is a good schedule. Smaller amounts will give you less varience in SG.

great thanks! and ya, for my water changes so far i've been mixing the water to go in the tank about 24-40 hours before i actually do the change...is that long enough or should i age it longer? i just did 24 cuz thats what the salt mix said.
