Vanishing nem

Any thoughts on how a six inch plus, four year old plus, sebbae nem could simply vanish? Any thoughts would be appreciated

Get upset by a change or rise in parameter, suck up into itself after it moves into a hole or crevice somewhere.

I've seen them wither, withdraw, wander, even die, I've just never plain lost one like this... A bit concerned

It moved somewhere before whatever it decided to do.

It's back, in the same exact place it left from, looking better than ever. I even dug in the sand where it was and couldn't find it.
