Water loss using a sump

I set up my 10g sump, with a mag7 pump to my 40g. I am losing about a gallon of water a day, is this right? Every night returning from work I would have to add almost 1 gallon of water to the sump to get the water level where it should be. How much water are you guys losing?

I was losing about 2g/day with my 75. I'll guesstimate I'm losing over 3g/day now on the 125.

Those mags put off some heat, so that sounds about right. It also depends on your lights and other things that cause heat.

Betwen 2 and 3 gallons a day on my 125. That sounds about right though.

It all depends on different factors like how dry the air is and ambient room temp. I would say a gallon a day would be about right. I`m about 2 gallons a day with my 125.
