water temp

I have a 50gal tank. I read that fish enjoy temps between 72-78 degrees. What should my water temp be. It is at 80 right now. Is that too high?

80 is fine. There is great debate as to the prefered water temp. The natural average reef temperature in the real world is closer to 80-82 than it is 72-78. The biggest issue is to keep the temp as stable as you can once you select a temperature.

Also as temps go up disolved oxygen goes down and animal metabolisms go up. I like to keep the tank at 78.
