Wavemaker suggestions?

I've got fish and coral - 75g. Thinking about a wavemaker and been doing some reading. Looks like they're simply a power strip that handles 4-6 powerheads on different timing cycles to produce varying currents.

What are the most tangible benefits and is there something else recommended other than the power strip and multiple power head thing? I've seen some that describe a single unit that creates water motion also. The asthetics seem nicer on something like that since there aren't 4 powerheads seen.

Any suggestions

I have a Red Sea Wavemaster Pro...your right it is pretty much a powerstrip with different timing cycles. I think it's pretty good though, has a feeding mode and multiple settings for how much you want the flow to change and what not...

I found these two threads for you, one with the powerstrip thing and one with a wave maker you put on the out put of your sump return...HTH's a little

I would suggest the Natural Wave wavemaker strip for a budget unit. If you want a nicer unit, I'd go with the Red Sea model.

Yeah, after further reading, I guess I was referring to the SCWD, but see that only gives you a defined 100 degree sweeping oscillating flow from 2 water outlets from a single position or height in the tank.

Looks like the Wavemester pro simply allows you to choose modes for specific durations, position the power heads, and let the system do the work - as opposed to timing powerheads individually. Is that about right?

If so, that's the one I want.

Red sea wave master pro is the best bet unless you have bucks in which case you should seek none other but the tunze stream pump with integrated controler.... <drool> The tunze is to current what halides are to light, they are totally amazing.
